Our Emergency First Aid at Work (Level 3) – Highfield Accredited course provides learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to respond confidently to a range of workplace emergencies. Suitable for employees, carers, family carers, and members of the public, the course covers CPR, AED use, choking, bleeding, shock, seizures, and the treatment of minor injuries.

This course is suitable for everyone but has been designed to help employers to provide a positive mental health culture within the workplace and to provide learners with comprehensive knowledge on a range of the most common mental health conditions and the skills to be able to act should a condition be suspected.

Basic Life Support (BLS) – Highfield Level 3 Award in Adult Basic Life Support and Automated External Defibrillation (RQF) course equips learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills to respond confidently in emergency situations. Well-led is a national leadership development programme for managers of adult social care services working in the private, public or third sectors. The programme is grounded in the reality of social care delivery and has been developed in partnership with registered managers familiar with the day-to-day challenges of leading a care team.

Our 5-Day course combines the Care Certificate with Basic Life Support and Patient Manual Handling, providing a strong foundation for those new to the care sector. The Care Certificate covers 16 standards required for care roles, while the practical elements ensure learners can respond to emergencies and move individuals safely. Both practical courses include theory and hands-on assessment by the tutor to ensure competence, confidence, and compliance with current best practice.

As part of the CQC requirements, Health and Social Care personnel are required to undertake Mandatory and Statutory Training. The CQC regulations are not clear as to what Mandatory refresher training is required. This is why Mitera Training Academy have aligned their All in 2 Day Refresher to the prescribed Skills for Care Essential Training programme.

The Liberty Protection Safeguards have now been agreed by both the House's of Parliament and the House of Lords, and whilst it is anticipated they will become law next year, the responsibilities that will be placed upon Registered Managers are significant. Whilst the Code of Practice around LPS is still to be written, what is clear is that Registered Managers are going to need to have a sound understanding of the Mental Capacity Act.
