Dementia Awareness in Care
Our Dementia Awareness training course aims to increase learners knowledge of dementia. This course is targeted for anyone working with a person who has dementia or living with someone with dementia.
Description
Our course equips Health & Social care staff and anyone living with someone who has dementia, with the knowledge and empathy needed to recognise symptoms, respond appropriately, and deliver person-centred care. It also supports compliance with safeguarding and CQC standards, improving outcomes for both individuals and teams.
What is covered
- Discuss what is Dementia, the theoretical models, common types, causes and an individual’s experience of Dementia
- Review the roles of carers and others in the support of individuals
- Consider the factors that can influence communication and interactions
- Look at the ways of working with a range of individuals to ensure diverse needs are met
- Examine how to promote well-being in individuals
- Considering and understanding the importance of a Person Centred Approach
- Review and appreciate the importance of diversity of individuals
Learning and Assessment
This course is either delivered by Face to Face classroom taught at Mitera Training Academy or through our Virtual Training Courses held with our specialised trainers.
